Privacy policy
This policy explains what Tern Software, Inc. collects when you use Tern, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you add one, a photo
- Workspace content: the issues, comments, files and projects you and your team create
- Usage data: which features you use, when, and from what kind of device
- Billing details, handled by our payment provider; we never see your full card number
How we use it
To run Tern, keep it secure, answer you when you write to us and improve the product. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your workspace content to train models for anyone else.
Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to run Tern, such as hosting, email and payments, under contracts that limit what they can do with it. We list them on request. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
Where it is stored
In the United States by default, or in the European Union for Enterprise workspaces that choose it. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
How long we keep it
For as long as your workspace exists. When you delete a workspace, its content is gone within 30 days and from backups within 90.
Your choices
You can see, export, correct or delete your data from your account settings, or ask us to do it. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
