Privacy

What eased.dev collects, why, and the services that help us run it. We do not sell your data.

Last updated:

  1. 001Who we are

eased.dev is run by ABZN LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16823097), with its registered office at 21a Malletts Road, Cambridge, England, CB1 9EZ. We decide how your data is used. Reach us at support@eased.dev.

  2. 002What we collect

Your email address, when you join the waitlist, buy Pro, are invited to a Pro team, sign in or report an issue.

Account and purchase records: your plan, the amount paid, the Stripe payment reference, the emails of teammates you invite, your sign-in sessions (with the IP address and browser they came from) and your Pro tokens. We store only a hash of each token, never the token itself.

Product analytics: the pages you visit, the buttons you use (for example copying an install command), the link you arrived from, and your browser and device type. If you accept analytics cookies, session replay also records how pages are used, with everything you type into form fields masked and your email, your teammates’ emails and your Pro tokens hidden.

If you accepted analytics cookies, joining the waitlist makes your email your analytics identifier, so your earlier visits on that browser are linked to it, and a purchase is linked to the visit it came from. If you did not, a signup is counted without your email, and a purchase is recorded in our analytics under the email you paid with.

  3. 003Why we use it

To send you the early access and updates you asked for, to deliver Pro and check your licence, to answer support requests and issue reports, to keep the service secure and within fair limits, and to learn which parts of the library are useful.

  4. 004Who helps us

Each of these services handles data only to provide its part of eased.dev:

    • Stripe, through Stripe Managed Payments, is the merchant of record. It takes payments, handles tax and issues receipts, and holds your payment details under its own privacy policy.
    • Resend sends our email (waitlist, access and sign-in links), keeps the waitlist and customer lists, and forwards mail sent to support@eased.dev.
    • PostHog runs our analytics and session replay, hosted in the EU. Its requests go through eased.dev/ingest, so they come from our own domain, and it does not store your IP address.
    • Neon hosts the Postgres database that stores accounts, purchases and hashed tokens.
    • Vercel hosts the site.
  5. 005Cookies and analytics

On your first visit we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose, and if you decline, PostHog runs without cookies: it stores nothing in your browser, your visit is anonymous and held in memory only, and nothing is recorded by session replay. We still count page views and the link you arrived from.

If you accept, PostHog stores an identifier in a cookie and in local storage so it can recognise you when you come back, and session replay starts. We treat a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a decline. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the foot of every page. We keep your choice in your browser’s local storage.

The site also needs a sign-in cookie, a readable cookie that marks a signed-in Pro account so we do not show it Pro offers, and local storage for small conveniences such as your theme, your package manager, whether you have seen the changelog and when we last showed you a Pro offer. None of these are used for analytics.

  6. 006How long we keep it

We keep your account, purchase records, team and tokens until you ask us to delete your account. Waitlist and customer emails stay on our lists until you ask us to remove them.

Analytics events are kept for the retention period of our PostHog plan, currently seven years, and session recordings for 30 days. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires it to.

  7. 007Your choices

To stop getting updates, or to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, including your account and your analytics data, email support@eased.dev.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

  8. 008Changes

We will update this page when what we collect or who helps us changes. The date at the top shows the last change.
