Compare animated component libraries

I build Eased. This page puts it next to five libraries people weigh it against. I checked every cell against each library’s own site or GitHub repo, and where I couldn’t confirm something, the cell says unknown.

When to pick something else

  • Aceternity UI: More free components (114) with a shadcn registry and copy-paste install, and paid plans on top.
  • Animate UI: Animated primitives across Radix UI, Base UI and React Aria, plus 773 icons, all free, with reduced motion covered per its docs.
  • Magic UI: More free components (75) under a plain MIT licence, with llms.txt and its own MCP server.
  • Motion Primitives: A small MIT set of 33 Motion components, with its own CLI next to the shadcn registry.
  • React Bits: The largest free set here (218), each in JavaScript or TypeScript and CSS or Tailwind, and not tied to one animation library.

How I checked

For each library I read its licence and package files on GitHub, counted components from its own registry or component list, searched its component code for prefers-reduced-motion and useReducedMotion, read its accessibility docs, and fetched its llms.txt and MCP docs. Reduced motion counts as yes only when the docs say so; otherwise I give the share of components whose code checks it. Star counts come from GitHub. Eased’s row is built from this site’s catalogue and pricing. If something here is out of date, email support@eased.dev and I’ll fix it.
