A new identity and online shop for a small roaster on the Atlantic coast.
Halden roasts every Tuesday in a converted boat shed in Ericeira. Their coffee was sold in three cafés and through a shop that looked like every other shop: a grid of identical bags on white.
The owners wanted to sell more online without losing what made the cafés work, which is talking to the person who roasted your beans. The bag was the one thing every customer held, so we started there.
One colour per origin, a hand-set serif name and the roast date printed large, so the bag tells you when it was made before it tells you anything else.
A low terracotta sun from the view out of the roastery door, used as the mark and as the shop's one illustration.
Built around the three bags on the shelf this week, with a subscription that ships the day after roasting.
Short notes written by the roasters themselves, edited by us into one consistent voice.
