Design engineer

The role

A third of the studio writes code. Our design engineers build the websites we launch and the prototypes we test, and they sit with the designers, not in another room.

We are looking for an engineer who cares about the last ten percent: the easing on a menu, the focus ring, the page that still loads on a slow train.

What you will do

• Build marketing sites and shops in Next.js, React and Tailwind.
• Prototype product ideas quickly enough to test them the same week.
• Write the motion: transitions, reveals and the moments clients remember.
• Keep our sites fast and accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA.
• Hand over clean code and train client teams to work in it.

What you bring

• Four or more years of front-end work in React and TypeScript.
• A good eye: you notice when a margin is two pixels off.
• Experience with animation on the web, in CSS or Motion.
• A habit of testing on real phones, not only in the browser's device mode.

Good to have

• Experience with a headless CMS.
• Some design work of your own.
